Bald Eagle Extinction
In 1963 only 400 breeding pairs of Bald Eagles
were left in the United States. The Government
enforced strict bans protecting the Bald Eagle
habitats, and banned the use of the insecticide
DDT. As a result the number of Bald Eagle breeding
pairs grew to more than four thousand and as a
result the Bald Eagle is no longer and endangered
species.
